HEALTH CARE REFORM

Join the Discussion and Take Action

OCA and the OCA-Greater Seattle Chapter believe that all people deserve quality, affordable health care. In 2005, OCA adopted a Health Care Resolution to support universal affordable access to health care for all.

Take five minutes of your time and call your Senators or Representatives.

FACTS:
- 47 million Americans do not have health insurance and regular health care
- 4 out of 5 uninsured Americans are working families
-
1 out of 6 Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders do not have health insurance (compared to 14% for the white population); those without health insurance tend to go without care for serious medical conditions and do not even get routine or preventive care;
- Cutural and linguistic competence is necessary for the provision of quality care;

HOW YOU CAN HELP
- Call an elected offical
- Give your name and address
- Explain that you want them to support the President's proposal because we need to bring stability and security to those who currently have insurance, affordable coverage to those who don't, and rein in the cost of health care.
