OCA - Greater Seattle welcomes participation whether you are a member or not!

Each year the organization puts on workshops and seminars on subjects of interest to the Asian Pacific American Community. For instance, in 2005 we held a workshop on legal issues dealing with problems commonly met by the community, and one on the new Medicare prescription plans. We co-sponsored other workshops and events with the local on topics such as elections, leadership, and dealing with growing up Asian american. We sponsored talks by authors and others. This year we plan even more events.

Our committees are always looking for help.

Elections committee works with King County to implement section 203 and provide translations, registration and polling place help. For a demonstration of the work of this committee click the weblink to Metro King County below to see what we are up to and how we help them.

Communications committee is always looking for people to cover local events and provide articles for this website, the chapter newsletter, "In Brief", or both. We need reporters for events, proofreaders and editing. We want story writers.

The Community Outreach program engages in numerous programs. We attend many functions and often are looking to have a table where board members and others can gather and exchange ideas. We participate in events and try to field teams. Come join us
