Local and National Organization
Become a member of a national organization, the "OCA family", consisting of over 80 chapters and affiliates across the country. Be represented by the only Chinese American civil rights organization based in Washington D.C., which stands firmly behind the civil rights of ALL Asian Pacific Americans.

Participate in the only local Chinese American advocacy organization in the Seattle area. One that launches and supports initiatives at the local level, is active at the state level, and works with others on regional and national issues.

Networking
Establish relationships with other local Asian Pacific Americans.

Participate in the democratic process through local meetings, national board meetings, the annual national convention, leadership development programs, and other OCA-sponsored activities.

Establish relationships with other major civil rights organizations and support effective coalition building between other Asian and minority groups.

Advocacy


Help ensure that the civil rights of all Asian Pacific Americans are not being compromised because you:
1. Work with us locally to monitor government and political activities in Washington tate and the Seattle metropolitan area.
2. Work with the national office staff in Washington, D.C. to monitor government and political activities.

Community Awareness
Become an informed, active and responsible citizen as a member of OCA.
 
Keep current on information of interest to Asian Pacific Americans by learning about legislation, political developments, social and economic issues, as well as educational and professional opportunities. You will:
1. Receive the chapters bi-monthly “In Brief” newsletter covering local chapter and national activities.
2. Receive the National organization's quarterly newsmagazine, "Image."

Image Enhancement
Work to eliminate stereotypes in the media, policy and American communities; help to build a more positive and accurate image of Asian Pacific Americans.

Provide the next generation with educational and professional support including internships, scholarships, informational resources and career guidance.

Unify the Chinese Community
Work with thousands of other OCA members and other Chinese community leaders and members to overcome the forces that divide Chinese Americans.

Support OCA, the only national Chinese American organization based in the nation's capitol that provides a common forum for all Chinese Americans.

Interface with Political Leaders
Meet Asian Pacific Americans who have made significant contributions in paving the way for future generations.

Join an organization with political influence to attract distinguished speakers.

Community Outreach
Reach out to other community groups such as local government, school boards, community service groups, and other minority organizations to work toward common goals at the local, state and national level.

Raise your visibility in your community; get your views and needs addressed.
